Boat-side Disclaimer re. Trolling Motor Not Working
In our experience, sometimes the issue is not with your gear but is a boat-side problem. In about 15% of the cases, we put a motor on the bench and it works fine. Before you go through all the trouble of dismounting your equipment and driving it in, double check all electrical connections and have your batteries load tested. Even with a full charge on a 12 volt battery, you can still have a weak battery cell which won't be able to deliver the amperage to make your gear operate properly.
